This billboard does something you’ll never imagine. - New Invention

Me and my friends ever wondered if we can access information through our phones for a product rather than through a physical flyer. We then found out one day that you could scan codes with your phone,
Billboards can now connect to smartphone smart billboards enabled with NFC and QR code readers so you can access information more efficiently, and has been explained in greater depth in technology articles. Such new inventions are very innovative and make it very convenient for consumers to familiarize themselves with the product or service, especially when places with high populated areas and highly accessible.
Having Wi-Fi for 4G/3G data connection is required however, and cannot be accessed under subways and such wireless obstructing areas.

Despite that however, it is arguably very efficient being easily accessible makes it a great invention made in recent time for promotion methods.

Ideas for Inventions to Help the Military Strengthen Defences

Working in the military is a job the requires a lot of different technology, assistance and support from other humans as well as from new advancements and inventions. Creating or helping to produce the most efficient soldier is one of mankind’s biggest competitions since the beginning of time. From using stone tools, to harnessing fire, to creating Kevlar, new ideas for inventions and technology has pushed us farther through evolution and enabled us to do things that were unimaginable a few decades ago. Defences in the military are crucial to protecting our resources, whether they are human resources or natural resources. A couple ideas for inventions that might strengthen the military defences I came across during my research are “wearable robots”, which would enable soldiers to move faster and be more efficient. I believe this idea is one that will shape the future of not only military defences, but also human assistance and prosthetics, the need for wheelchairs could be reduced. The goal is to be able to enable the average marine or soldier to run the four-minute mile. Do you know or have any ideas for inventions that we might see come into play in the near future?

Do you think inventions are important for the advance of mankind?

New inventions have progressed over the years and many of which have promoted the lead of innovation and improvement of making the world a better, more advanced, and fun place.
Inventors are always striving to improve and advance towards future technology and make progress towards revolutionary inventions. However, that is not to say that we can also slow down and make use of our current technology, as sometimes we can make use of what we have which better the use of what we can have at the moment.

What are some recent inventions that have benefited you recently, and what do you think about how new inventions can develop and enhance our lives? Technology inventions have played a large role in mankind’s advance and improved the lives of many, though that can be interpreted differently through the perspective of many others.

Most Recent Inventions: The Smart Trashcan

One of the most recent inventions that I’ve discovered is the smart trashcan. It is a neat little device, in the form of a trashcan, which helps you discard your trash by moving to catch your litter when you toss it. This advanced device uses a Kinect sensor to help calculate the trajectory of thrown trash and then tells the trashcan where it needs to be to catch the litter. The smart trashcan uses three separate wheels with individual motors on the same axel to quickly move and is also designed with a low centre of gravity to prevent it from tipping over. Although this invention currently only has a 10-20% success rate, creator Minoru Kurata is determined to update the trajectory calculation programming and upgrade the sensor to raise the success rate. He hopes to one day patent this invention and sell the idea to companies. Here is a link to a Youtube video where you can learn more and watch the smart trashcan do its thing: Smart Trashcan catches trash. Although one of the most recent inventions, I believe this has the potential to be found in every home in North America. Would you buy this invention if it were available? Why or why not?

How to start building a simple invention - Simple Invention

Simple inventions are the best and easiest way to start off on being innovative if you want to be creative or try something else new.

Although there are already current cool inventions already been made by young children such as the popsicle, you can still attempt to recreate a simple invention and just have fun with it.

Starting off with something simple like the potato battery as mentioned in an earlier post or starting off with anything else simple that doesn't require too many complex steps.

An idea could be to start off cheap and gather materials after you decided on what to make, here are a few examples at this website.

Electronic Invention Ideas that Helped Stephen Hawking

Many invention ideas are created with the intention to help others. An example of this is Stephen Hawking’s speech synthesizer, which is a whole lot more complicated and intricate than one might think. When he first started using the synthesizer, Stephen would have to choose the word he wanted using a hand-clicker that highlighted words on a screen row by row column by column. With this technology Stephen was able to speak 15 words in one minute. Unfortunately, over time Stephen’s hand-function and mobility continued to degrade and new invention ideas had to be formulated for him. This brought the development of his “cheek switch”, which detected slight movements in his cheek to determine when he was selecting a word. This too, was only a temporary fix, as the input system for his speech synthesizer was very slow and would set him back every time he selected a wrong word or letter, by 2011 he was only managing one or two words per minute. Which lead to more enhancements to his software and speech technology. Stephen now uses a software interface, which allows him to select a word right after typing a letter, instead of having to scroll down to the bottom of the page and find a word suggestion. This version also includes added features such as extra menus that allow shortcuts for Stephen to speak, email or search. To conclude, inventions that help others like Stephen Hawking are the types of inventions that are important to society. Can you think of any invention ideas or recent discoveries that can help society?

3D Printers may be used for cloning kidneys

Every year many people die due to kidney failure and it is the 9th leading cause of death in the US. As of February 2014, more than 99,000 people were on the waiting list for a kidney, which is to say a lot of people are in need of.

With the use of 3D printers it can be revolutionary for the progress of healthcare technology and can improve and save the lives of many patients who have been inflicted in kidney disease variants. This is a very innovative use of technology which is life changing towards future illnesses.

You can donate here at this website if you wish to support this cause.

Can Future Inventions Include Robots to Defuse Bombs?

Today, there are many different types of robots, robots that help clean garbage, robots that assist humans with daily tasks, and robots that can talk to you and even show “emotion”. In this post I want to discuss the possible future inventions regarding robots and my time serving in the military. During my time in the military, I found that defusing and disposing of live explosives (bombs) is an extremely dangerous task. With all the different concerns regarding terrorism and war, it makes you wonder if robots will be helping us on the battlefield or in the line of duty in the future. One of the possible future inventions that can help soldiers in the line of duty is bomb defusing robots, which can locate, defuse and dispose of dangerous, live explosives. At the moment, such robots do not exist; only ones which are remotely controlled to navigate and locate a bomb, and then defuse it using surgeon-like human controls, from a safe location away from the threat. In war there are many unnecessary casualties, and future inventions- like these bomb defusing robots- are ones that can help save lives. What inventions do you know of that help save lives?

Make your own battery using a potato - Simple Inventions

Have you ever considered trying to save energy and your batteries? What if I told you that you can use a potato as a battery for your clock? Potatoes can be used as an electrical source with the right use of certain materials, and it is a very simple invention.

You will need two potatoes, two pieces of heavy copper wire, two galvanized nails, three wire units, and a simple LED clock.

Following some very specific steps through inserting a nail to each respective potato and wiring them along towards the LED clock, the zinc and iron would generate heat and through the potato which would buffer the said ions will generate power!

The potatoe battery is a very simple and fun experiment for young children to work with, and is a fun method to experiment with.

News About Technology: A Robot That Helps Scoop Garbage?

An article I came across recently while searching for a new garbage can sparked a lot of interest in me. It was news about technology, a robot that can scoop up garbage using brushes (like a vacuum), and high-tech sensors and cameras. The cameras and sensors work in unison to help the robot determine what is garbage (apparently it can only detect larger chunks of garbage such as bottles and cans at the moment) and sweep it up and trap it in its 50-litre capacity internal trash bin. This sounds like unheard of news about technology, and it is when paired with a garbage can. A garbage can picking up garbage may sound simple until you add the factors of a busy street with pedestrians, cars and other obstacles-- which is where the sensors come into play. This garbage bot has the ability to sense the path of motion of an object/person, which enables it to take steps to avoid most obstructions that it may face. Any downsides to this new creation? It still requires human assistance to recharge and empty its contents. The plan is to create a newer model, which can empty and recharge itself with no human assistance. Is there any recent news about technology that you have heard of? Please share!
