Have you ever
considered trying to save energy and your batteries? What if I told you that
you can use a potato as a battery for your clock? Potatoes can be used as an
electrical source with the right use of certain materials, and it is a very simple invention.
You will need
two potatoes, two pieces of heavy copper wire, two galvanized nails, three wire
units, and a simple LED clock.
Following
some very specific steps through inserting a nail to each respective potato and
wiring them along towards the LED clock, the zinc and iron would generate heat
and through the potato which would buffer the said ions will generate power!
The potatoe battery is a very simple
and fun experiment for young children to work with, and is a fun method to
experiment with.
